SR absorption microtomography of human ossicles and cochlea
Abstract
Synchrotron radiation has been used for absorption microtomography of the human middle and inner ear at spatial resolution of about 10um. Besides various visualization applications these data have been transferred from voxels to vectors by 3D image segmentation to achieve individual three-dimensional data representations of human hearing organs, which are essential for acousto-mechanic modeling tasks, e.g., finite element modeling for vibration and sound transfer analysis.
