A basic system for acquisition, reconstruction and simulation of real objects (ERSO ) is presented. We developed algorithms to support human operators in generating three dimensional models from images. Also we developed a user interface framework for an easy integration of algorithms and user interaction. After an introduction and an overview of the system architecture we give a short summery of algorithms used in the reconstruction process. Afterwards we describe two algorithms, image segmentation and graph matching, in more detail. Finally we illustrate the user interface framework architecture based on a modified Model-View-Controller concept.
