Titel
Effect of climatic parameters on the release of VOC from UV-cured furniture coatings
Abstract
The emission behavior of UV-cured furniture coatings was studied in 1m3 test chambers. In contrast to earlier investigations, which were performed under standardized living conditions in the dark, chamber parameters like temperature, humidity and intensity of simulated daylight were systematically varied. As expected, the main components detected in the chamber air consisted of photoinitiator fragments, acrylic monomers and solvents. The VOC concentrations in the test chamber were measured as a function of time and were found to be strongly dependent on the given test conditions.
