Future shape modelling scenarios. Current trends and possible evolutions within the industrial domains of engineering and manufacturing

The purpose of this chapter is to present a broad analysis of the recent developments that characterize the domain of CAD/CAM/CAE and, starting from the current state of the art in terms of scientific achievements, to analyse technological trends that regard the interactive visualization domain, and eventually define a number of possible scenarios that are likely to unfold in the next few years in the context of 3D shape modelling for industrial applications.
