HIGAPS: A highly integrated Galileo/GPS chipset for consumer applications

The location requirements for emergency callers and location-based services (LBS) outside urban areas can hardly be fulfilled without Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). This article describes the main concept of a future large-scale integrated combined Galileo/GPS receiver chipset for consumer applications with particular attention to high sensitivity acquisition.
