This Corrigendum relates to the above article. The authors omitted to include information regarding ethical approval and informed patient consent for the human tissue images presented in Figs. 2 and 3, as required by the journal's editorial policies. Ethical approval for the data presented in Fig. 2 was granted by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main/University Hospital Frankfurt, Germany (Protocol No. 2024-2038-Anfrage). Ethical approval for the data presented in Fig. 3 was granted by the same Ethics Committee (Protocol No. 20-876aV). Written informed consent was obtained from the patients whose samples were used for the preparation of Fig. 3. In addition, the published article omitted the editorial declaration that Prof. Liron Pantanowitz, who served as Editor-in-Chief of the journal, had no involvement in the peer review or editorial decision-making process for this article. The authors apologize for these omissions. The journal also apologizes that these omissions were not identified prior to publication.
