Practical examples in competence management and competence monitoring for business performance
Abstract
BT is no longer only the provider of telecommunications networks and services in the UK. BT has embraced fierce competition in home markets and become an innovative and dynamic company competing in the converged markets of computing, IT and communications. There is a consistent and systematic way of managing competences at BT. This article illustrates this system of competence management and competence monitoring. Furthermore, it depicts BT's interaction with the PROLIX system which intends to bridge competence gaps and to define appropriate learning processes.
