Title
Embossed ceramic reflectors with nano dispersive coatings for compact optoelectronic systems
Abstract
Modern optoelectronic elements used in harsh environments like high ambient temperatures and UV-radiation are often equipped with ceramic housing and substrates which include integrated optical elements. This reflectors or beam shaping elements are realized by dead-mold casting or embossing technologies. The present paper describes a combined embossing, infiltration and coating process for realizing smooth reflector surfaces into Low Temperature Cofired Ceramics (LTCC) substrates. The measurement results of the reflection coefficients are comparable with full-metal aluminum-surfaces. The main fields of application so far have primarily been grooves for edge-emitter UV-LEDs with forward scattering reflector areas.
