    The article describes a consistently transparent procedure for restructuring an enterprise. The results and simulation models which were elaborated during rough planning can be further used for the next working steps by fine-tuning. This reduces the planning expenditure and ensures the clarity and single-mindedness which are necessary to achieve the reorganization aimed at.

    Rechnerunterstützte Informationsverarbeitung wird seit den 50er Jahren zunehmend zum Schlüssel der Fabrikentwicklung. Stationen der Entwicklung waren zunächst die NC-Technik, später CAD-Systeme zur Zeichnungserstellung, Modularprogramme zur Fertigungssteuerung und flexible Fertigungssysteme. Es wurden punktuelle Aufgaben bei der Konstruktion und Fertigung industrieller Stückgüter im Rahmen der bis dahin bestehenden Betriebsorganisation automatisiert. Veränderungen ergaben sich allenfalls durch zusätzliche EDV-Abteilungen, die die neuen Technologien betreuten, die Ablauforganisation der Herstellung blieb jedoch weitgehend unberührt.

    Modelling information and materials flow for layout planning. Typical of modern production systems is the growing number of production variations, the increasing degree of automation, and the integration of materials and information flow. More and more solution alternatives have to be developed and evaluated. The demands placed on the system often change. For this reason, a modelling system was developed whose function is described in this article.
