The development of complex real time control systems requires computer based engineering support over all phases of system life cycle. However, appropriate and complete tool sets are not yet available in industry. In order to provide such an integrated tool support, the project PROSYT was initiated and supported by the German Ministery for Research and Technology. In this paper one of several "chains" of integrations of existing tools is presented, concerning the tools SARS, IGS and VICO. The main objective for this integration was to provide support for the acquisition of functional specifications of future systems as well as the verification by means of simulation, thus avoiding errors and incompleteness in early project phases.
