To be able to keep track of or even dominate competitors, enterprises have to transform themselves very fast while considering the existing logistic and monetary goal conflicts. An important success factor for enterprises is the logistics performance, which depends on the design and the parameters of the order management methodology. Based on discrete event simulation, a tool called "Order Management Bench" has been developed that helps modelling, simulating and evaluating the logistic aspects of the order management process spanning the complete supply chain from customer order to the delivery of goods. The vision is to dramatically decrease the time needed for modelling complex logistic systems scaling from the shop floor level up to the order management methodology on the supply chain level.
