Electroactive Polymer Actuators (EAP) are raising more and more interest in global research and industry. Their soft, material-intrinsic and silent motion coupled with their large displacement potential have triggered new ideas for various applications. However, time-intensive and costly manufacturing methods have so far hindered the introduction of commercial products. This is especially true for the ionic CNT actuators, which have been given less attention compared to dielectric elastomer actuators in the past. The adaption of existing printing technologies such as screen printing or doctor blading for the production of CNT actuators has fueled new awareness of this topic and has opened up new possibilities for optimizing performance reproducibility and manufacturing cost efficiency.
