Direct Manufacturing of Metal and Ceramic Prototypes by "Multiphase Jet Solidification"
Abstract
The direct production of metallic and ceramic prototypes with generative manufacturing systems is a main aim in Rapid Prototyping. A technology called Multiphase Jet Solidification (MJS) shows good possibilities in order to satisfy this demand. Powder-binder-mixtures are extruded through an x-y-z-controlled jet and green parts are fabricated layer by layer up to the final extension. Prototypes of different materials e.g. stainless steel are available after a debinding and sintering process. The basic principle of the process and the current results will be presented. Furthermore improved methods and tools to do the data preparing from CAD to NC-code for the machine will be discussed.
