Titel
Cystic squamous cell tumours in the lung of rats and Syrian hamsters induced by coal oven flue exhaust in combination with benzo(a)pyrene
Abstract
Rats and hamsters were exposed to coal oven flue exhaust. In addition, hamsters received intratracheal instillations of various doses of benzo(a)pyrene. In rats, the treatment resulted in the development of six cystic keratinizing squamous cell tumours (3 epitheliomas and 3 carcinomas), moderately keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (12), as well as in the development of adenocarcinomas (2). In hamsters, five cystic keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma were observed.
