One of the most promising processes with supercritical fluids is the precipitation with compressed antisolvents, since it allows the preparation of solids with unique properties at a relatively small expenditure. An interesting new field of investigation is the coprecipitation of two or more solids to gain microcomposites, which offer new possibilities in ceramic processing, manufacture of pharmaceutics, polymer blends, microencapsulation, etc. Using the PCA process (Precipitation with Compressed Antisolvents) coprecipitation is comparatively easy and the properties of the obtained products may be controlled by variation of the process parameters.
