Computersimulation der Datenübertragung mit MODEMs
Abstract
The paper describes a simulation programme for data transmission implemented on a PC with MS-DOS operating system. The modem simulates some well-known modulation techniques such as PSK, ASK/PSK and QAM. The baseband signal is formed using a roll-off-filter with a roll-off factor that can be chosen. The channel consists at a linear system of on order up to 6 and an additive noise source with a Gaussian process the mean value and variance at which can be chosen arbitrarily. Along the transmission path many measuring points are accessable. The measured signal can be represented in the time and frequency domain, respectively. Futhermore eye diagrams and signal vector diagrams can be displayed. The program is a tool to compare different modulation schemes, channel charateristics, and sources. Components for clock and carrier recovery on the receiving side are not provided but it planed to add them in the future.
