Characterization of laserwelded connections with regard to service durability
Abstract
For qualifying of laserwelded connections on one hand metalurgical and on the other hand technological destructive and non-destructive test procedures are applied. The results of technological tests describe the mechanical behaviour (static and fatigue strength) of the connections with regard to material, microstructure, geometry and welding parameters. Fatigue strength investigations are important for light-weight design. The paper presents the necessary data for fatigue design.
