Characterization of nickel alloy aerosol generated from grinding processes

The generation of nickel alloy grinding dusts was studied under workplace conditions. With variation of physical parameters like cutting speed, metal removal rate, average grit diameter and wear of abrasive belt, fine dust fractions were taken under laboratory condition both in a belt and a wet grinding process each. This paper presents the results of quantification and characterization with respect to size distribution, chemical composition and morphological aspects.
