Titel
Assembly of microoptical elements by adhesive bonding
Abstract
Hybrid microsystems are composed of various microcomponents which have often been manufactured by diverse techniques. In contrast to monolithically manufactured microsystems, production involves a complex assembly process. At present, most microsystems are assembled manually, but with manual techniques it is impossible to achieve high production output at competitive costs. Automatic assembly processes have to be developed and need to deal with the increase in the use of microscopic components. Currently, the know-how from macroscopic lens assembly is being transfered to microoptical requirements and new methods are needed to realize handing and exact positioning of microoptical components . The discussed assembly equipment includes; a precision robotic system, a modularly designed tool changing system, specially designed grippers, sensor systems and a special dosage device for adhesives.
