Abstract
The invention describes a process and a device for the quantitative detection of gases in air, in particular ammonia, by potentiometric measurement using pH-selective glass diaphragm electrodes. The invention is characterized by a first pH-selective glass membrane electrode (measuring electrode) against which the sample gas flows directly on the diaphragm side, and by said measuring electrode being calibrated prior to the measurement by a calibrated second pH-selective glass diaphragm electrode (calibration electrode). Furthermore, the invention presents a device capable of performing this process.
