Abstract
Wear-resistant surface layer structure comprises: (a) a 200-400 nm thick hard amorphous carbon layer (4); (b) a 50-200 nm thick intermediate layer (3); and (c) a 0.3-2.0 mm thick alloyed layer (2) having a hardness of 600-1400 HV0.1. Production of the structure is also claimed. USE - Used for protecting human implants and components of spacecraft made of titanium alloys. ADVANTAGE - The layer structure has high wear resistance.
