Abstract
In a process for the compensation of distance-related sound intensity of an ultrasonic distance measuring sensor having at least one ultrasonic transmitter and one ultrasonic receiver in which the receive gain of an ultrasonic receiver is specified as a function of time from emission of a measuring signal, a proposal is made to measure the spatial sound field L<-p (x) of the ultrasonic transmitter by means of a suitable ultrasonic receiver in the working range of the sensor in order to compensate for the distance-related individual intensity attenuation of an ultrasonic distance measuring sensor, and furthermore, to traverse the complete control range of the amplifier of the ultrasonic receiver by using a constant reference signal at the receiver input, thus recording the output signal of the total receiver amplifier V(u<-s , L<-p ->* ) and, to determine the compensation voltage curve u<-s (t) = L<-p (t) x V(u<-s , L<-p ->* ) using the individual values thus determined and to reproduce them for later ultrasonic distance measurements.
