Abstract
The method involves detecting a first output of a first sensor sensitive to two materials for a first state and a second output for a second state and detecting an output of a second sensor sensitive to only one of the materials. A component of the second material is derived from the first and second outputs of the first sensor and compared with the second sensor output. The first and/or second output values are varied iteratively until the derived component coincides with the second sensor output. The first material component is derived using the changed first and second output values and the second sensor output. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. as gas warning apparatus in consumer area, e.g. leak detection in gas installation. Also for quality assurance of perfumes and coffee. Enables accurate and cost-effective drift compensation.
