Abstract
A shallow, transparently insulated solar pond was investigated, which was designed for applications in the temperature range around 80degreeC. Measurements with and without heat extraction were carried out to determine the collector characteristics data Etasub0 and U. The investigations show that, using a transparently insulated solar pond, a continuous 24- hour energy supply with approximately constant operating conditions can be provided.
