Technik zur Kontrolle des Bohrungsprozesses beim Laserstrahlschneiden
Abstract
Research and development activities in the field of laser material processing aim increasingly at the realisation of techniques and devices for process diagnostic and process control (1,2,3). This paper will present a technique which makes it possible to drill different materials of a different thickness without changing the laser parameters of a cutting device. In order to achieve this, the IR-radiation emitted by the interaction zone laser/workpiece is detected axially to the laser beam. Then, as a function of this, duty cycle and pulse frequency of the laser are automatically adjusted. This procedure helps to avoid erosion and explosive burns of the geometry of the hole during the process of drilling and to minimize the drilling time. Furthermore, one signal indicating the end of boring, may be used as steering signal to start the cutting process.
