A Simulation Model for Advanced Release and Order Planning
Abstract
Being able to build a prediction model of an existing wafer production facility using discrete-event simulation is an advanced method for analyzing and optimizing the performance of a wafer fab. In particular, the scheduling of manufacturing orders bears great optimization potential. This article outlines the proceedings to develop an advanced semiconductor production simulation model which takes peripheral parameters into account to examine the fab behaviors throughout the planning horizon.
