Abstract
Cyclically loaded forged components bear high stress amplitudes which are obtained by the surface treatment '"induction hardening". To reach the optimum in fatigue strength the influence of the specific hardening parameters for the adjustment of optimum compressive residual stresses in relation to the particular material must be known.
