Rheology and mass transfer in mycelial broth
Abstract
Rheological properties of streptomyces tendae (s.t.) broth determined from macro- and microrheological techniques are presented. The influence of viscoelasticity on mass transfer is shown by 'follow-up' fermentations in 3 reactor types; stirred vessel, jet loop and propeller loop reactors.
