Abstract
South Korea is currently crossing the threshold from being a less developed country to becoming an industrialized country. All Development aid programs expired in 1989. Admittedly, South Korea is still one of the so-called low-wage countries, but there are already very clear trends towards wage increases and shorter working hours. In turn, this means that besides the price of products, the quality of products is, to an increasing extent, also becoming a factor of competition. This fact is in no way unknown in South Korea. Indeed, it has already led in the past to a very extensive organization being set up to advance quality assurance and quality awareness.
