Modellversuche zur Projektilpenetration in Stahlbetonziele und geschichtete Strukturen
Abstract
During the past 15 years the Ernst-Mach-Institut has performed a large number of subscale tests with concrete and layered structures under impact loading. The experiments were conducted to predict projectile penetration for the design of concrete structures and hardened shelters as well as for the optimization of penetrators. The tests (model scale 1 : 2 up to 1 : 6) were performed to reduce the number of full-scale tests, to check the influence of several test parameters and the validity of scaled test results. The comparison of a 1 : 5.8 model-scale test with a full-scale test, where a MK-84 bomb was shot against the cross section of an aircraft shelter, shows good similarity of the damages. From parameter studies of tests with KE-penetrators against reinforced concrete slabs with model scale 1 : 4 important knowledge was obtained about the influence of impact velocities on the penetration process. Results from model scale tests can also serve as a basis for numerical simulations.
