Abstract
The stochastic dynamics of water quality characterised by nitrate-nitrogen, nitritenitrogen, ammonia-nitrogen and dead biomass has been modeled using global radiation and flow rate as stochastic driving forces. Therefore the work contains a short description of some one-dimensional continuous stochastic Markov processes which satisfy Ito-type stochastic differential equations. Their time-dependent probability density is known. This fact is used to calculate dynamical confidence intervals for the driving forces and scenaria for derived quantities. In addition to these scenaria which are deterministic functions stochastic paths (realisations of the stochastic process) have been calculated by a numerical method for solving stochastic differential equations.
