Abstract
In order to ensure the competitiveness of German semiconductor enterprises within the global competition , the information-, communication- and control systems needed for the production environment of ASICs have to become a decisive advantage for the location. The new production- and logistics concepts which are needed to fullfil this aim require the modeling of flexible and scalable material flow scenarios under tomorrow's manufacturing conditions like large product and technology variety as well as product-related throughput. This was achieved by choosing an object-oriented method according to OMT (Object Modeling Technique) for modeling, depicting and analyzing the material flows in contrast to the classic matrix method. The implemented software tool was the CASE-Tool Innovator from MID. By adapting this method it was possible to manage all objects involved in the material flow, generalized classes, methods etc. consistently within the entire material flow model. This ensures a be t ter transparency, utilization and information handling for the users of simulation software, machine layout creation, capacity analysis as well as control software for automation systems.
