Managing Restructuring Processes
Abstract
During the last five years companies have realized that by restructuring an organization a significant rise in productivity is feasible. Especially through the decentralization of tasks and the building of self-organizing units, tremendous cost reductions could be achieved. This is what we call the fractal approach. Even if the restructuring process itself is well supported by multivariate analysis methods, there are still open questions: What is the relationship like between continuous improvement processes be initiated? How can they be monitored and controlled? The concept of "industrial learning" is a suitable approach to answer these questions.
