Titel
Low-level fluence measurements of fast neutrons by bubble detectors compared to customary detector systems
Abstract
For measuring low intensities of neutrons the properties of neutron bubble detectors (BD-100R) have been investigated. The experimentally determined sensitivity of the bubble detectors have shown considerable fluctuations (up to 50%). The efficiency of the bubble detectors has an energy threshold of 100 keV and therefore they show (espec.near shielding walls) a different response compared with He-3 detectors. The comparison of experimentally determined doses with bubble detectors, He-3 detectors and TE-chambers showed significant differences. These discrepancies are explained by neutron transport calculations.
