Abstract
The present invention refers to a device for cooling components, in particular diode lasers, comprising a tank containing cryogenic liquid which vaporizes in an evaporation chamber, whereby heat is removed from the component. The evaporation chamber has an inlet in its lower area through which cryogenic liquid enters into the evaporation chamber and in its upper area, it has an outlet through which the vapour exits over a choke in the cryogenic fluid tank. Preferably, the top end of the evaporation chamber is lower than the bottom end of the cryogenic liquid tank and the feed of the cryogenic liquid and the vapor drainage takes place by means of variable shaped lines. The component to be cooled is linked by a heat-conducting connection to a heat conducting element which has a low heat resistance and projects into the evaporation chamber in such a way that the cryogenic liquid wets the heat conducting elements in the evaporation chamber. The heat conducting element is thermally isolated and located in the cryogenic liquid tank.
