Transient operating conditions in pipe networks
Abstract
The dynamical behaviour of steam flow in pipe networks can be simulated by SiR-Dn. The calculation of time and space dependend operating conditions is essential for design of pipe networks. The model covers up the complete steam region. The fluid-dynamics are described by an one-dimensional unsteady polytropical viscous pipe flow. The model equations are mapped on the pipe network (discretisation). The capability is completed by evaluation of condensing steam and flow energy. A graphic development kit supports the problem formulation (pipe network, parameters and boundary conditions) and the evaluation (selection and presentation of solutions).
