We report on Fourier transform photoluminescence studies, carried out on bulk crystals of Hgsub1minusxCdsubxTe with narrow band-gap. Two different experimental techniques are discussed to detect weak luminescence signals in the presence of dominant thermal background radiation. Examples for luminescence measurements in the mid infrared spectral range (8 - 12 Mym), as well as in the far infrared (70 Mym) are presented.
