Geregelte Prozeßführung zum Herstellen von Hartstoff-Dispersionsschichten mit CO2-Laser
Abstract
The paper presents results of investigations on laser cladding of steels with carbide containing composites. The resultant layers, consisting of a ductile Ni-base alloy and up to 50 volume percent TiC, WC or Cr3C2, show a high resistance to intensive abrasion, impact and fatigue. Important preconditions to reach these properties are a high content of non-dissolved carbide particles and a degree of base material mixing of less than 3 percent. Furthermore, for overlapping tracks and for cladding of small workpieces where high substrate heating is encountered, uncontrolled laser cladding can lead to dramatic damage. By on-line control of the laser output power, track shape, carbide content and base material dissolution can be repeatable hold within given limits. This is done by pyrometric measurement of the melt bath temperature and regulating the laser according to the setting of a PID-controller. Practical experiences show, that the method of temperature control presented here, is a use ful instrument to guarantee constant cladding quality.
