An electroplating process for producing a metallic joint between two metal surfaces and a device for carrying out said process are presented. In said process, the electrolytic fluid is applied to the joint area and on the surfaces (A, B) to be joined by means of a rotating, electroplating coating device (1) with an integrated anode (4). This means that the components do not have to be immersed in a galvanic bath. Two components adjacent to one another at an acute angle can be joined. The coating device is a cylinder (1) whose shape matches the seam geometry. The cylinder (1) is best made of an elastic material.
