Form based force-control for finishing processes
Abstract
For heavy machine components with high quality demands for roundness e.g. friction bearings it is often not possible to machine those parts automatically. Because of the reduced machining accuracy of the large machine tools the final manufacturing process is often done manually. This paper introduces a measuring and controlling technique for finishing processes which controls the machining force regarding the roundness deviation. The concept of the force-control and first results of the force-controlled finishing process on a test machine are presented.
