With the existing fluorescent materials, which concentrate direct and diffuse radiation, a nwe type of measurement device was developed. The first prototypes were investigated at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, Freiburg and tested by Rostock. First examples are being used in the Greek-German research solar demonstration project "Lykovrissi" to analyse the user reaction to climatic conditions by measuring how far and how frequently windows and shading devices are operated. By using two modified fluorescent collectors, connected via a special electronic device, the complete measurement device gives a signal which is proportional to the window or shading unter natural or artificial light.
