Abstract
Strength and abrasion behavior of 4 commercial composites with different amounts of filling packing were determined after storage in Ringer's solution at 37 degree C and cyclic thermal shock at 12 degree C to 55 degree C! Whereas the behaviour of the materials was influenced only slightly by aging, thermal shock resulted in slight to pronounced material-dependent deterioration of the properties. An effect of filling bulk was apparent that was unrelated to the long-time behavior. Whereas bending strength and abrasion resistance rose with increasing filling bulk, compressive strength declined.
