Development of a supported catalyst for flue gas denitrification according to the SCR process
Abstract
Catalysts for the flue gas denitrification via the SCR process (selective catalytic reduction) up by the catalytic active oxides of Ti, V and W totally, own some disadvantages (thermal and mechanical stability, high content of heavy metal ions, disposal of waste catalysts), which could be avoided by a supported catalyst. A supported catalyst was produced by coating a ceramic support (cordierite honeycomb) with the catalytic active component dip coating via a sol gel process from titanium-tetraethoxide, vanadyl-tripropoxide and tungsten-hexachloride in the sol stage. Structure e.g. pore size distribution and catalytic activity were determined.
