Emisja formaldehydu na poziomie drewna - co to oznacza?
Abstract
The formaldehyde emission of the individual wood species in the test chamber differ from each other. After a test period of 240 to 384 hours respectively the steady state concentration ranged from 2 to 9 ppb. Humid oak wood produced the highest formaldehyde emission (9 ppb), and beech wood the lowest (2 ppb). The values for Douglas fir, spruce and pine ranged between 3 and 4 ppb. The formaldehyde emission values of dry wood were by 1 to 2 units higher. The examples of wood-based panels show that solid wood dried at a relatively low temperature produces essentially lower formaldehyde concentration values in the 1 m3 chamber than wood-based materials made from wood and glue. Same is valid for particleboards, MDF and plywood as well as for solid wood glued core strips. According to the binder used values of 10 to 30 ppb were determined. Solid wood bonded with PVAC glue reached a value of 8 ppb whereas natural grown solid wood showed values beween 3 and 5 ppb.
