Titel
Dust overloading of lungs after exposure of rats to particles of low solubility. Comparative studies
Abstract
Rats were exposed to dusts of polymers, carbon black and two types of titanium dioxide. In these subchronic and chronic studies the characteristic findings were a disproportional accumulation of the insoluble materials in lungs at high exposure concentrations, impairment of the alveolar clearance and an inflammatory response.
