Titel
Factors influencing tissue homogenization by a novel, automated tissue disintegration system
Abstract
Homogenization of liver, skeletal muscle, lung, and tail from mice was performed by a novel automated tissue-disintegration system. By measuring mechanical forces generated during homogenization and by determining the rate of disintegration, it was shown that the efficiency of homogenization depended on the geometry of the disintegration elements, the settings for the process of disintegration, and the samples to be disintegrated. The efficiency of the automated tissue-disintegration system was compared to Ultra-Turrax rotor-stator homogenization.
