Abstract
DE 102006040771 B3 UPAB: 20080421 NOVELTY - Preparation of two-dimensional paper products with increased relative wet-tear stability and softness comprises adding a block-copolymer with blocks A and B to a cellulose suspension and treating the paper product during its manufacture or retroactively with the block-copolymer, where a segment with at least a coupling capable group is cellulose and exhibits an average molecular weight of 300-3000000 g/mol, and a polyalkylene glycol segment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of two-dimensional paper products with increased relative wet-tear stability and softness comprises adding a block-copolymer with blocks A and B to a cellulose suspension and treating the paper product during its manufacture or retroactively with the block-copolymer, where (A) a segment with at least a coupling capable group is cellulose and exhibits an average molecular weight of 300-3000000 g/mol, and (B) a polyalkylene glycol segment of formula (-C(CH3)(CN)-CH2-CO-(O-(CH2)n)m-O-CO-CH2-C(CH3)(CN)-). n = 2-6; and m = a number selected such that the average molecular weight of polyalkylene glycol segment is 400-50000 g/mol. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a paper product with increased relative wet-tear stability and softness comprising the block-copolymer with a block A and B. USE - The paper product is useful as a tissue product (claimed). The paper product is useful to treat water systems or water dispersant. ADVANTAGE - The two-dimensional paper product exhibits increased relative wet-tear stability and softness (claimed).
