Unter Öl laufende Reibschichten für Synchronringe
Abstract
The synchronizer is one of the highest stressed parts in manual transmissions for motor vehicles. In order to improve the performance of the friction stressed surfaces special friction layers are used, which are connected with the synchronizer. In this paper the characteristics of the friction materials presently used are discussed. The friction behaviour of the linings is not only affected by the material, but particularly of the lining structure, since this crucial influence on the oil drainage velocity has. A new iron basis sinter lining with a highly porous structure is introduced. The test stand results show a high transferable specific friction energy and a performance, which is nearly independently of the load conditions.
