Abstract
DE 102005062847 A1 UPAB: 20070801 NOVELTY - The system has optical units for forming an eye-piece (5a) and observing an image (1) with an eye of an observer in an observing position (6) defined by the design of the system. A beam splitter (4) and an eye-tracker (3) control a position of the eye of the observer. The beam splitter divides an entire optical path into two optical paths, where one of the optical paths corresponds to the image coordinated to the observing position and the other optical path corresponds to the observing position coordinated to the eye tracker. The two paths overlap each other. USE - Used for an optical instrument e.g. microscope, and a head mounted display for monitoring an image and an object. ADVANTAGE - The beam splitter divides the entire optical path into two optical paths, where one of the optical paths corresponds to the image coordinated to the observing position and the other optical path corresponds to the observing position coordinated to the eye tracker, thus enabling the observer to see the image to be observed through the eye-piece without restriction, while simultaneously monitoring the eyes of the observer with the eye tracker. The overlapping of the two optical paths enables to design the system in a compact and space-saving manner.
