Titel
A qualitative usability evaluation of a mobile 3D-based environment controller
Abstract
This paper describes the evaluation of an intuitive mobile environment controller. Through its 3D-based user interface, the PDA-based controller provides the user with mobile access to her/his physical environment and ambient media. The goal of this usability evaluation is to analyse the user acceptance of 3D-based interaction systems. At first, this paper describes general challenges of Ambient Intelligence. In the second chapter, we analyze the challenges of existing interaction approaches. In the third chapter, we introduce a novel interaction approach and a prototype realizing this approach. In the fourth chapter we describe an evaluation of this prototype. In the fourth chapter, the related work is discussed. In the fifth chapter, we explain the experiment and the approach of the evaluation. Finally, we present and discuss our results.
